The U.N. is going back into Somalia. And knowing that this decision passed through the U.S. after such humbling political shock from UNOSOM II in 1993-95 (the event that the movie Black Hawk Down starring Josh Hartnett is based on)...
Somalia hasn't really been off of the spotlight - be it terrorism, piracy or civil war. So, not that it hasn't had attention, but it hasn't had helpful attention. The end of this particular attention seems edifying.
But how can one ever see sincerity behind the action of any powerhouse in the world stage?
Still, I am excited. It's such pleasant news.
But TFG this, TFG that. They are still in the picture. I guess, of course. But what are they doing?
